Memorial Day Weekend

I went to pick up the boys at Kelly's house and I was finally able to see the picture that David's mom painted for me! I love it and hung it up immediately upon returning home.

We went to my two favorite places to eat, the Oasis and Phil's Ice House! It was good to see everyone and to get back to the town I love. I wish I could transfer Plano schools down there. Also, Kate treated all of the girls to pedicures/manicures and my dad watched all of the boys. It's back to grading/cleaning, only nine more days until summer!

Kelly Cousin Fun

Kelly invited Dawson and River to spend the night at their house last night. I know, I think she is crazy with 3 boys of her own all under Dawson's age. But Kelly is amazing and I don't know how she manages all that she does. Dawson looooooves Isaac and so he always wants to go over there. This is the first time River has ever slept over though. Kelly called me at 9:00 to tell me that they were all in bed, ever baby Oscar. She said the only time River got sad was right at bed time and River asked Kelly "Mommy, Mommy?" Dawson said, "River, that's not mommy, that's Aunt Kelly!" River's response was oh, but I think he was okay because Dawson was there. I am pretty sure that Dawson thinks that River is crazy. I am picking them up pretty soon so that we can head down to Austin for a couple of days.

Last night was also Crys's birthday and so Kelly took this picture of the boys.

Happy Mother's Day!

Today has been a really great day for me! My role as a mother centers around everything I do and every decision I make. It is the most important aspect of my life. I have the sweetest little boys in the world. They both made me presents at school, Dawson painted me a flower pot and River made me a construction paper flower. Then, I got a really cool surprise in the mail from my cousin, this edible arrangement! Last night, Dawson and I went to see the play Robin Hood that my students were performing up at the school. He loved it and it was so fun being up there with him and watching his face during the sword fights. Then there's River who makes me melt everytime I look at his beautiful blonde curls...he is soooooooooooo cute (and funny)!!!!!!
Last year at this time was really hard for me, I actually went apartment searching and signed the lease to the apartment where I live now last Mother's Day. :( I can't believe a year has gone by. Every day seems to get easier and I have settled into routines and life with my two little boys. I am optomistic about what the future holds for me.
